``People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, ``Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.`` I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.`` - Carl Rogers

Anxiety & Panic

To some extent, anxiety is an inevitable part of life, but when we cannot function beyond our restricting thoughts of fear, panic or uncertainty, it can restrict us from living our lives to its fullest potential and have a major impact on our social, personal and professional life. Counselling can help you to learn about how to manage anxiety by using certain coping techniques.

From time to time we can feel down, experience a low mood or feel life has become pointless. Depression affects everyone differently, for some, it is a sense of being under a dark cloud, which will eventually pass, for others it is like being stuck in a dark hole. Either way, talking about your feelings to a professional counsellor can help you to manage or reduce your depression.

Domestic Violence

Victims of domestic abuse may find it difficult to talk to anyone about their experiences due to feeling ashamed, protecting the honour of their family or fear of losing their kids. Sometimes the victim may not even identify the form of abuse they are enduring and blame themselves for not being ‘a good partner or spouse’. Counselling can give you the space to reflect and explore the fears of wanting to break free from an unhealthy relationship.

When we lose a loved one, life can come to a standstill, where any sense of enjoyment cannot be felt. Often we are told ‘time heals’, however, the healing process after losing someone close has no time limit and is uniquely experienced by everyone. Counselling can help you bring upon acceptance of your loss by working through the various stages of your grief.
